They eat fresh here.
Bread is bought daily or every few days. No factory wrapped.
Eggs are sold by the half doze. Appear to be used for baking I haven't seen eggs as a meal to often.
No gallons of milk.
Olive Oil used very liberally. Hardly any butter.
No wrapped meat. Bought cut fresh.
Lots of cheese.
Sugar is not a big deal. Pastries are not sweet.
Wine is drank at supper.
Also most desserts at suppers are fresh fruit.
There are not very many overweight people here. I have seen very few.
Hopefully you can get some ideas and bring back some recipes for our Italian peasant dinner! Wayne says it's time we do this again. we have enjoyed your posts! Safe travels..W&M
